Visit Wanuskewin Heritage Park

You can’t come to Saskatoon and not visit this soon-to-be UNESCO World Heritage site. If you’re keen to learn about Indigenous culture, bring your kids to the Wanuskewin Heritage Park. You’ll travel more than 6,000 years back in time (fun fact: that’s older than the Egyptian pyramids!) while discovering First Nations culture. Learn about the agricultural methods used by these peoples, discover tipi rings and visit bison kill sites at this location. In addition to being a cultural museum, this area is also one of Canada’s longest-running archaeological dig sites where you can explore artifacts such as pottery fragments, projectile points, plant seeds and so much more.

Spend the day at Cranberry Flats Conservation Area

If you’re looking for a relaxing way to experience the outdoors, try the Cranberry Flats Conservation Area. Located just outside of our city, this conservation area has an abundance of outdoor recreation activities perfect for families of all ages. In addition to its many winding trails and scenic lookout points, this area is also known for its sandy beaches. Pack a lunch and spend the day outdoors with your family at this popular conservation area. The sunset over the water is not to be missed!

Paddle on the South Saskatchewan River

If you prefer to spend your stay in the downtown core of Regina, we encourage you to do so in a canoe! Rent a canoe or kayak and paddle away the afternoon along the South Saskatchewan River that runs through our beloved city. In addition to being a great form of exercise, you’ll enjoy the city from a different perspective while being on the water. While gliding along the river, you’ll be able to spot many forms of wildlife.

Stay with us at the Home Inn Saskatoon South and enjoy all the activities listed above with the whole family. You’ll create warm memories while learning about our region’s culture, history, and natural marvels. Our hotel offers amenities like free Wi-Fi, complimentary HomeEssentials breakfast, comfortable rooms, and more! We are conveniently located just minutes to downtown Saskatoon and are the ideal choice for families and couples alike!
